Make the Grade…

Sacred Heart Area School offers a challenging and stimulating curriculum with emphasis on meeting the diverse needs of all learners. Our students consistently score above national and local averages on standardized assessments. Sacred Heart Area School graduates are prepared to excel in the most competitive high schools and beyond.

Preschool

We offer both three year old and four year old preschool programs.

Both options are full-time and include free BeforeCare (7:00am-8:15am) and AfterCare (3:00pm-5:30pm)

Kindergarten

Our Kindergarten focuses on taking the first real concrete steps towards becoming a strong and independent reader. By the end of the year, our expectation is that each student will be able to independently read grade-level appropriate books.

First Grade

In our first grade program, students significantly strengthen their reading skills while also becoming proficient in basic mathematics.

Second Grade

2nd graders have reached the “age of reason” and the curriculum they are offered reflects this mental maturity. Critical thinking skills, emotional intelligence, and moral responsibility, are emphasized at a higher degree in 2nd grade than they might have been in previous years.

Third Grade

3rd graders take a big leap from learning about their moral responsibilities in 2nd grade, to now becoming mini citizens of our school community. As the independence and capabilities of these third graders increases, so does the responsibilities that they have towards their school and local community.

Fourth Grade

An emphasis on independent thought, a servant-leader mentality, and a strong academic expectation is the mark of our 4th grade program.

Fifth Grade

No longer just little kids, 5th graders are taught that they are changing into young men and women and that their goal is to know, love, and serve their Lord in all that they do.

Sixth Grade

Finally, as they finish up their last year at Sacred Heart Area School, our 6th grader program emphasizes the character building that is a foundational part of our school curriculum. Our students will be leaving our classrooms but they will be bringing with them the strong Catholic identity that they formed while in our rooms.
