In second grade students will be learning many things, here are some highlights.

Math- Students will be learning 3 digit subtraction and addition, money concepts, time, shapes, and building the foundational skills for multiplication and division.

Reading- Students will continue to work on fluency and comprehension.

Writing- Students will be working with sentence structure, paragraph writing, and writing informational text. They will also continue working on typing skills.

Social Studies- Students will learn about local/national government and U.S. history. 

Science- Students will be learning about physical science and biology.

Religion- Students will continue to grow in their understanding of the Catholic faith as well as prepare for the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion.

FInally, we will be doing a couple service projects and learning social emotional skills. They will also be doing art, library, and other fun things throughout the year.

About Mr. Justin

Hi my name is Justin Edin. I graduated from SMHS in 2007 and Saint John's University in 2011 with a B.A. in Communications. I later got my K-12 A.B.S. Special Education License at Bethel University in 2014. I have worked with various levels and ages of students over the years and am excited for the opportunity to teach at my home parish Sacred Heart. 

I live outside of Staples with my wonderful wife Tamber and our two joy-filled kids Esther and Jasper. I'm looking forward to sharing my faith and helping students grow in theirs. I would appreciate your prayers and can't wait to meet you.
