Compensation Scale:

  • Starting salary for teachers with less than 1 year of experience: $38,000

  • Additional compensation may be provided for advanced degrees, certifications, or specializations.

Sacred Heart Area School is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Substitute Teachers to join our team. Teacher Qualifications

Applicants for teaching positions must meet at least one of the following qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • A Minnesota Teaching License (preferred)

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Education from an accredited institution

  • An Educational Certificate from an accredited institution

  • A Master’s Degree in Education from an accredited institution

Demonstrable Proficiency in the Relevant Teaching Area

Teachers must exhibit a clear and measurable ability to effectively teach the content and skills required for their assigned subject area. This includes:

  1. Mastery of Subject Matter

    • Teachers must have a deep understanding of the content being taught.

    • Example: A math teacher should skillfully convey algebraic concepts to students with varying abilities.

  2. Effective Lesson Planning and Delivery

    • Teachers must create lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards while addressing diverse student learning needs.

    • Example: An English teacher integrates classical literature and contemporary works with grammar and writing instruction.

  3. Student Engagement and Motivation

    • Teachers use strategies to actively engage students in the learning process and foster academic success.

    • Example: A science teacher incorporates hands-on experiments and group discussions to make scientific concepts relatable.

  4. Assessment and Feedback

    • Teachers employ diverse assessment tools to measure progress and provide constructive feedback.

    • Example: A social studies teacher uses quizzes, essays, and debates to evaluate understanding and enhance critical thinking.

  5. Adaptation to Individual Learning Needs

    • Teachers address individual learning needs through tailored strategies.
